Below are a few streaming video questions that our customers typically have. If your question is not answered below, please feel free to contact us here »
Q: Can I use the box on more than one tv?
A: No, the box is for use on a single tv. Additional televisions require additional boxes.
Q: Is it legal?
A: Of course it is, as long as you use your Skynet TV as intended! Skynet TV acts as a catalyst between the enormity of available media on the internet and your television set. Skynet TV is essentially a computer that sorts through the material online and streams it to your home.
Q: Are there monthly subscriptions?
A: We do not provide content, we merely stream it, which allows us to waive a monthly fee. Some of the available applications do, however, require licensure or a fee and that is up to the individual user to obtain.
Q: What kind of internet is necessary?
A: The minimum suggested speed is 10mbps, though your media will stream more effectively with faster internet
Q: Can I travel with my Skynet TV box?
A: Absolutely! Provided you have HDMI and internet access, the Skynet TV box is portable.
Q: Can I record movies/shows for later viewing?
A: No, because Skynet TV does not download any material we cannot allow material to be recorded. Because of our global capability, however, it is likely that the same movie and show will be available the next time you log in.
Q: Can I link my regular Xbox and Playstation controllers to the unit?
A: Yes. The Skynet TV box is Bluetooth compatible which allows wireless controllers to be used.
Q: Am I responsible for purchasing new software for my Skynet TV box?
A: No, the box will update itself periodically.
Q: What does it mean when it says “buffering” or refuses to connect to media material?
A: Because we do not provide the material itself, we cannot be responsible for the quality of all material streamed. Generally, as long as your internet connection is strong, you will be able to access the media you request.
